Destination Wedding Photographer

Italy is always a fantastic idea. I love this country so much that travelling there is still an adventure. What’s even more fun is to travel there to photograph the wedding. After countless of times visiting this country, it never amazes to surprise and inspire me. This time I’ve had a privilege to come to Tuscany for an intimate wedding of Shaoi and Ian. The location was magical - Vila Olimpia located in the Tuscany mountains, and this journey was nothing but a unique and emotional adventure. The best thing that I love about being a destination wedding photographer and being able to discover all the countries and beautiful hidden spots in the world always sparks my creativity. This lovely and intimate wedding was no exception.

Destination Wedding Photography in Tuscany

Tuscany is well known for its amazing landscapes, rich history, and fantastic artistic legacy, and its influence on high culture. Many sources regarded Tuscany as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and have been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science. Not going to lie, another massive reason why my wedding clients (and myself, of course) love Tuscany - food! Always fresh and straightforward, but super tasty - It leaves no doubt since the very first bite. One more significant reason why Tuscany is a favourite choice for couples getting mar - Tuscany’s exceptionally picturesque landscapes. Regardless, if you choose a city like Florence or some remote villa, it always has hundreds of ideal locations for your wedding portraits or ceremony settings. Choices are endless.

Last but not least - the weather. No wonder the happiest people in Europe are living in Italy. The beautiful light from the very early in the morning till the striking sunset colours makes the Tuscany landscape a simple photographers dream.

Villa Olimpia Wedding Photography

For their intimate wedding day, Shoai and Ian chose a fantastic place called Villa Olimpia. It’s a private villa located up in the Tuscany hills close to Siena, Florence and Arezzo and it’s a simply perfect choice for a small intimate wedding.

Being an Asian couple Shaoi and Ian decided to have two ceremonies to their wedding day. First one was a traditional Chinese tea ceremony which is an ancient and most significant event at a traditional Chinese wedding. It incorporates an exchange of tea between the couple and their parents and expresses respect to their families. The ceremony was short and straightforward; however, it was a very emotional time for the couple and their parents, and it was conducted in the garden under the olive trees, which provided a beautiful and intimate backdrop for photography.

The ceremony location was a beautiful looking pathway leading to the villa, and it created a fantastic backdrop for the photographs. I was short, however, a very emotional ceremony where Shaoi and Ian exchanged their wedding vows. After the ceremony, couples’ friends and family enjoyed drinks and snacks at the villa. At the same time, I and the newly-weds took time to document their wedding portraits and enjoyed the picturesque surrounding of the estate. The beautiful Tuscany light blessed us, and all the nature and architecture around us created an excellent background for their portrait session.

The dinner has been served after followed by speeches and cake cutting with some fireworks! The evening was charming and enjoyable, and it proved that sometimes you don’t need to have 100’s of guests to have a fantastic wedding day. It was a very emotional, beautiful and intimate day surrounded by the nearest and dearest and I couldn’t enjoy it more.

Thank you guys for trusting me and taking me to Italy to photograph your incredible day. I hope that the wedding images that I’ve provided will be a long memory of your true love.
