London Wedding Photographer

As a London Wedding Photographer, I've been fortunate to shoot a wide range of wedding over the last eight years. Every single one of them is special in their way - a story, a location, people, emotions - you name it. Apart from that, London has a crazy variety of different wedding venues to choose from. A city full of colour, buzz and excitement. There is probably no better place to say "I do" than here. Regardless if it's a local pub in East or West, a fancy boutique hotel or one of the magnificent venues here and around London is taking you back in time. London weddings are always exciting and inspiring – a vibrant and creative journey. I think most inspiring (and a little terrifying) of times are when my wedding couples tell me that they chose a venue that has been on their list for a long, long time. The magnitude, scale, impression (you name it) of those spectacular places that London has to offer are jaw-dropping. Moreover, being able to take pictures and create wedding memories for my clients is probably more than a simple honour - it's only something else.

This time exception. When I got in touch with a lovely couple from US - Zhen & Justin, I've talked with them about their story, why are they getting married, why they chose London and, lastly, how they visualise their wedding day. I do ask these and similar questions of all my couples. Sometimes the answers surprise you, sometimes it's something that you have been expecting all along. In this particular case, when I asked them where are they getting married and they told me - Natural History Museum - you can only imagine how low my jaw dropped from all the excitement! I could've told you then, and I can tell you now - Photographing a wedding at Natural History Museum in London - is every photographer's dream, and being asked to do that from my couple was just surreal.

Natural History Museum Wedding Photography

If you ever visited or have been living in London, there is probably no need to explain the grandeur of the Natural History Museum. Being officially opened at the end of the 19th-century Natural history Museum quickly became a signature building in Kensington. Not only it's magnificent from outside, but the moment you step inside all the interior and architecture is also simply surreal. I was equally excited and surprised when Zhen told me that they do host weddings there as well. During our first meeting, the couple said to me that after visiting London from the US for the first time they saw the museum and already knew that that will be the place for their wedding. However, what I wasn't expecting that with the team of great stage, lighting and other professionals the whole setting of the 19th-century museum was quickly turn around and became a spectacular wedding venue which was breath-taking. But let's start from the beginning.

The couple decided to spend their wedding morning together. Zhen and Justin's idea was that spending time together was much more prefered as a couple can calm each other more, and being together with their closest friends and family was much more preferred. As from the photography perspective, it was much more prefered by myself as well because I was able to capture them both in the morning, rather than just a bride alone. Justin, however, left earlier to get everything ready at the ceremony and because they have decided to do a "first look" prior the ceremony which was a lovely touch for the bride to see her groom right before they say "I Do". We have decided to do the First Look at the museum, which already has a beautiful visual setting for it.

Later, once all the guests arrived, the ceremony commenced. The ceremony setting was simply fabulous, with flowers and mirrors (I'll let the pictures do the judgement). While all the guests were sitting downstairs, the couple got married up on the staircase right in front of the Darvin statue. All the guests and family enjoyed the canapes and cocktails after the ceremony while I and the couple explored the museum and outside for their portrait pictures. After, everybody sat down for evening dinner and speeches followed later.

After the meal, the cake cutting happened, and the first dance opened the dance floor right after. It was a fantastic rest of the evening with all the guests dancing away and having an amazingly fun time and a superb surrounding.

It was probably one the most significant wedding I've had a pleasure to shoot this year. Flowers, Decor, Couple, Location - everything fell in place and felt just right. Thank you, guys, for having and trusting me to photograph your unique wedding. It was one of the special ones that will stay with me for a long time.
