Wedding in South of France

A summer wedding in the South of France is always a great idea. I was super excited when Sinead and Jonathan asked me to come all the way from London to document their wedding day here in the South of France at Chateau Engalin. The weather and location was just perfect with loads of great opportunities for pictures and, no doubt, amazing early summer weather.

Chateau Engalin

Sinead and Jonathan decided to pick Chateau Engalin for as their wedding venue for the whole weekend. Engalin is an amazing 18th-century residence and ancient Bastille set amongst the rolling pastures of Gascony in the South-West of France. This breath-taking chateau has been brought back to life over the past ten years; however, you can still find the ruins of the old chapel just beside the chateau - a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony. As a destination wedding photographer, I was thrilled and overwhelmed with the location of the area, and the best thing worth mentioning was the was fields of Sunflowers which is a signature look for the whole area of Toulouse countryside. Not to mention, the fresh food that has been produced and served for the wedding guests during the day.

The Wedding

As for all destination weddings, I always fly a couple of days in advance. This wedding was no different. It gave me an opportunity to get familiar with the location, as well as, have a little portrait session with Sinead and Jonathan in the nearby medieval village. The wedding morning started very super relaxed. Girls were getting ready in the rooms upstairs, while Sinead's dad was still finishing his speech by the pool. Jonathan was sticking to his habits and had a morning run in the area as well.

The ceremony was held in at ruins of an old chapel just outside the chateau, and it was terrific. With the help of Marwan and Jeremy, the owners of the Engalin, the day was running very smoothly. The evening itself was filled with some fantastic and emotional speeches and gifts for guests and family from Australia (Sinead's family are from there) and, of course, some incredible dancing and partying till very late. Finished by Sinead's brother jumping in the pool (fully dressed).

I've absolutely loved to photograph this amazing wedding and if you're looking to get married in the South of France or Toulouse - Chateau Engalin is a perfect setting for an amazing wedding.  Don't hesitate and get in touch to book me to photograph your wedding in the South of France!
